Wi-Fi 6 for small and midsize business: review of the new indoor wireless access point WEP-3L

The Eltex series of Wi-Fi 6 indoor wireless access points has been expanded with a new model – WEP-3L. This compact device is suitable for such facilities as shops, cafes, offices with simultaneous connection of up to 40 people. It will become the most affordable variant among Wi-Fi 6 solutions by Eltex.

WEP-3L operates on two bands – 2.4 and 5 GHz, supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards. The total maximum throughput reaches 1.5 Gbps. This is enough for stable data transfer at high speed.

The access point supports the modern Wi-Fi 6 standard in the 5 GHz band and OFDMA technology, so the resources are distributed efficiently even in high-density connection conditions.

The new Wi-Fi access point model uses a 2×2 antenna configuration.

The 5 GHz band supports MU-MIMO 2×2 technology, which allows the device to simultaneously exchange data with multiple clients.

The device supports PoE technology. Power and data transmission are carried out via a single Ethernet cable. This simplifies installation and makes it possible to place the access point in places where it is difficult to lay a separate power supply.

The supported 802.11r/k/v protocols create seamless roaming. Switching between points in a single wireless network is almost imperceptible. This feature is relevant for facilities where users often move, such as offices, business centers and shopping malls.

To protect data, the WPA3 protocol is implemented, providing a high level of security. The improved encryption algorithms prevent unauthorized access and protect the corporate network. The device is compatible with earlier versions of the 802.11 standard.

For comfortable management of the wireless network, the Eltex SoftWLC software controller, virtual vWLC and hardware WLC-15, WLC-30, WLC-3200 are provided. With their help, it is easy to manage the entire wireless infrastructure, configure, monitor and support the equipment.
